SATURDAY
All Premier League teams in action today and tomorrow ahead of a fortnight off for some.
CHELSEA vs CRYSTAL PALACE (1230 ko) After last week’s unexpected 3-3 draw at West Brom, FLJ will have put the boot into his players during the week. Palace, you feel, will have been encouraged by the ease with which the Baggies tore through their defence, but I for one am glad we’re not visiting Stamford Bridge today. Home win.
EVERTON vs BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION (1500) What a start Everton have made to the season. But the Seagulls have also made a promising start and were desperately unlucky to leave with nowt against Man U. Expect a solid performance from the visitors, but this is not a good time to go to Goodison. Home win.
LEEDS UNITED vs MANCHESTER CITY (1730) Well, Leeds have captured the imagination. City have not and have underwhelmed in their start to the campaign. The pick of the day’s games sees two great managers up against each other for the first time on English soil, along with a team full of the best that money can buy against one that works incredibly hard. Should be a feast for the eyes. Draw.
NEWCASTLE UNITED vs BURNLEY (2000) The pick of the day’s dull fixtures. Brucie’s barcodes have started well, while Burnley remain appropriately pointless. Home win.
SUNDAY
LEICESTER CITY vs WEST HAM UNITED (1200) An early start against the league leaders. For us, much depends again on [a] the team’s frame of mind, and [b] defence. If they go out wanting to and believing that they can win, you fancy our chances of nicking a point, as we did in the Foxes’ title winning season. Vardy is a permanent threat, lurking in the wings for 90 percent of the game and doing next to nothing until *that* ball gets played through to him. Will Coufal start? Will be interesting to see how he copes. COYI. Draw.
SOUTHAMPTON vs WEST BROMWICH ALBION (1200) The Midlands side will have taken much heart from their first half performance against Chelsea last time out. But they remain fragile. The Saints come into this on the back of a heartwarming win at Burnley and are definitely capable of better than their previous three straight defeats suggest. Home win.
ARSENAL vs SHEFFIELD UNITED (1400) The Blades seem to have tested positive for early symptoms of Second Season Syndrome, while their hosts have offered crumbs of encouragement for their fans with their style of football. Mezut Ozil – what a talent, and what an almighty waste. Should be routine. Home win.
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS vs FULHAM (1400) Fulham find themselves in the kind of rut that West Ham fans are familiar with. Null points and a goal difference of minus 7 after just three games does not bode well for Scott Parker. Only the goal difference, you feel, will change today. Home win.
MANCHESTER UNITED vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (1630) Speaking of managers in distress, things aren’t looking particularly rosy for OGS. Anything but a decent performance and all three points today and the heat will really be on him. And how Jose would love to get one over his former employer. He seems at his best when challenged. Draw.
ASTON VILLA vs LIVERPOOL (1915) Few will fancy anything but a resounding Liverpool win here today. But Villa have turned a corner from last season and now find themselves unbeaten and in dizzying heights of the top four. But not for long, my funny-speaking claret and blue comrades. Away win.

Good job, Coffee, a draw for us will be a good result, but hope we can upset them. I most worry, Vardy pulling off one of his very convincing dives. Really fucks me off and if I remember well that was how Leicester got that draw you mentioned in there title winning season. 2-3 for me.

Yes, we were 2-1 up, then Vardy or someone scored in the last minute.

Mixed record against Leicester Have beaten them once in 12 being the 2-0 there a couple of years ago when Noble volleyed in from outside the area. In the 90’s we beat them 13 out of 15 including 9 in a row Will obviously be the back 3 & try & take Vardy’s space away but they are a step up from Wolves. Need to show the solidity at the back from last week obviously
Leeds v Man City should be interesting

Was a last minute dodgy penalty in their title winning season IIRC?

I looked it up Coffee, Vardy scored first, then Vardy was sent of for diving!! I remembered there was some diving going on, but did not remember him going off! Then we came back with goals from Carroll and Cresswell. Perhaps inevitably, in 5th minute of injury time, Leicester got a penalty to equalise.

I watched it in a Irish bar in Barcelona. The bar was packed and all were supporting Leicester to win the league title. Obviously, myself and 2 mates were getting very vocal for the hammers towards the end of the game with our goals and it looked like a win. The number of people that said things like, your not really supporting WestHam are you? Don’t you want Leicester to win the league? Incredible.

Pickford has a. Umber of how,era to look back on, but the one for the Brighton goal today might just be his worst.
Him continually being picked for England is one of the reasons I don’t think Southgate is up to the job

Great club are Everton. Won’t happen but would love them to do a Leicester and win the league.
Always been looked down by their arrogant “best fans in the world” neighbours.
